Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band
Membership in the Wind Symphony or Symphonic Band is open to any West Virginia University student, regardless of major, pending a successful audition. Please read Ensemble Audition Procedures for an explanation of the audition process. Please note, these auditions also serve for wind and percussion placement in the Symphony Orchestra. Auditions will take place in room 2070 of the Canady Creative Arts Center unless otherwise noted. Audition materials will be posted in early July.

Concert Bands
Two Concert Bands are currently offered during the Spring semester only. There is no audition required to join. Individuals simply need to register for MUSC 101 - Concert Band in order to participate. Membership in the Concert Bands is open to any West Virginia University student with prior band experience, regardless of major.
Mountaineer Marching Band
Membership in the WVU Mountaineer Marching Band is open to any West Virginia University student pending a successful audition. Students may audition before receiving their official university acceptance; however, participation in the Mountaineer Marching Band is dependent on acceptance to WVU. Accepted music majors are also required to audition for membership in the Mountaineer Marching Band.
With the exception of drumline, colorguard, and feature twirlers, returning members are not required to re-audition unless they wish to perform on a secondary instrument.

Pep Band
Membership in the WVU Pep Band is open to any West Virginia University student pending a successful audition.
Auditions for 2024-2025 will take place in October 2024. Audition information will be posted here at the start of the 2024-2025 academic year.
