Five unique ensembles enrich the university community and bring Mountaineers together through music.

Learn more about the bands

The WVU Bands program serves nearly five hundred students in five ensembles. It is designed to provide professional training for music education and performance majors, while also serving as a performance outlet for wind and percussion players throughout the university community, regardless of major.

In Town and On Tour

The bands have enjoyed recent performances at Carnegie Hall as part of the 2018 New York Wind Bands Festival and in the 90th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The 2019-2020 academic year will feature over a dozen performances by our concert ensembles and appearances by our athletic bands at over forty athletic events and games.
